What gets recorded
Web-server logs. Each request leaves a log line: IP address, browser and operating system, the address asked for, the page you came from and a timestamp. We rely on those lines to diagnose outages and fend off scraping or attacks; they are never matched against other sources to work out who you are.
Cookies. Four cookies belonging to our own domain, each described with its lifetime in the cookie list. A random visitor number and a visit-source marker are dropped on any page you open; the remaining pair only appears after you use a link that goes out to a casino.
Email. Writing to the editors leaves us with your address and what you wrote, which we hold until the conversation is finished, then a little longer in case it resumes.
What is not collected
No accounts, no sign-up forms that work, no mailing list and no comments. Our pages carry no Google Analytics, no Hotjar, no ad pixels and no social plug-ins. The message box on the contact page is not wired to anything, so please email us directly.
Reasons for processing
Serving pages and keeping them safe; seeing which pages are read and where visitors arrive from; letting a casino know that a new customer was referred by Casinos Town, because referral commission depends on it — all three rest on the publisher's legitimate interest in operating the site. Replying to your emails rests on your own request.
Sharing
A /go/ link hands the casino the random visitor number inside the address, which lets it credit a sign-up to us; your name and email are not part of it. Our host stores the logs for us. Data is never sold, and public bodies receive it only under a binding legal demand.
Retention
The visitor number cookie lapses after a year and the source marker after thirty days. Logs and correspondence are erased when they are no longer needed for the reasons above.
