Video Poker
Video pokers are based on five card draw poker. There are many different varieties, but the basic principles are the same. The most popular names to look out for include Jacks or Better, Deuces Wild, All American, Aces and Faces, Tens or Better, SupaJax, Joker Poker and many more. Players are dealt (usually) five cards and will get the option to hold as many cards as they like.
Players then select draw to reveal the remaining new cards and if these new cards make a win, prizes will instantly be credited to their balance. Always view the paytable if you are not sure of the wins. There are single hand games up to 100 hand games available. The wins to look out for are as follows (in ascending order): High card, a pair, two pair, three of a kind, a straight, a flush, full house, four of a kind, straight flush and the best win is a Royal Flush.
Once the player has got used to the different wins and odds and once they have learned which cards are the best to hold or discard, they should in theory start to win more. Each game will have a paytable with the associated wins so players can better gauge which hands are worth going for.
These were a popular land based casino attraction but since they were developed into online Pokies, their popularity has grown even more. It is only really in Australian online casinos that Video Poker machines or Slot Machines are referred to as Pokies. It is very rare to find an online casino today that doesn’t have at least a few different varieties of this form of poker.
