The government of New South Wales has long maintained a commitment to gambling transparency on a local level. As such, they often release timely data related to both clubs and hotels with electronic gambling machines. The latest data has just been released, courtesy of Liquor and Gaming NSW, and this article includes the highlights.

Overview

Here are some of the most important facts available in the latest date release:

  • Compared to the previous six-month period, the number of hotel gaming locations dropped by 34. The number of clubs fell by 9.
  • When compared to the same period in 2018, the number of gaming venues in hotels fell by 74. The number of club gambling venues dropped by 16.
  • Compared to the previous six-month period, the number of gaming machines in hotels fell by 39. In clubs, the number dropped by 206.
  • When compared to the same period in 2018, the overall number of gaming machines fell by 548.

NSW Hotels with Greatest Net Profit (LGA)

According to the latest data, the following NSW local government areas enjoyed the greatest net profit from January 1st to June 30th, 2019:

  • Burwood/Strathfield – $37,209,756.48 (paid $15,121,381.84 in taxes)
  • Bayside – $38,347,660.15 (paid $14,174,366.02)
  • Inner West – $40,464,674.82 (paid $12,933,634.62)
  • Georges River – $41,420,112.37 (paid $15,495,110.68)
  • Parramatta – $46,800,014.26 (paid $16,885,476.06)
